Dwight Zatko

Obituary of Dwight Zatko

Dwight Zatko, beloved husband of Rosaland (Lynn) Zatko of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at the age of 55 years, following a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Dwight enjoyed a thirty-seven year career with CP Rail where he established himself as a skilled and competent engineer and manager, most recently as a Manager of Rules and Regulatory Affairs, Canada. We will remember Dwight as a compassionate and generous spirit. His undaunting courage in the face of adversity, his independence and his loyalty will be remembered by all. He was friendly and vivacious to the end with a sparkling sense of humour, fun and adventure. Our lives have been enriched by the gift of his life and our world is a better place because he was in it. Left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life are his wife Lynn; his two daughters, Adria and Melissa; son-in-law John Lenz; and grandchildren, Gillian and Lachlan Lenz. Dwight is also survived by his father Anton Zatko; sister Roxanne; as well as many loving brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Louise. Peacefully sleeping, resting at last. The world’s weary troubles and trials are past; In silence he suffered, in patience he bore, ‘Til God called him home to suffer no more.
