Obituary of Denise Barre

Denise Barre of Calgary passed away on Monday December 11, 2006, at the age of 84 years. Denise was born in Rosedale, AB, on July 11, 1922 and moved to Calgary as a young girl with her parents. Everyday of her life was met with the challenge of a disability caused by polio; however she never allowed it to interfere with her enjoyment of life nor the pursuit of a career. After completing her secondary education she pursued a career in the Chaplain’s office at the Currie Barracks in Calgary, a career she enjoyed for over thirty-five years. Denise is survived, and will be sadly missed by her brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Elia Barre of Kimberley, BC; sister-in-law and Gert Barre of Edmonton, AB; nieces Dee Dee, Jeanette, Linda, Donna, Caroline, and Janice; and nephews Wayne, Michael, Dwight, Brian and Alan. She was predeceased by her parents Alcide and Anna Barre and brother Aime Barre. She will also be fondly remembered and missed by many more relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Saturday December 16, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
