Obituary of Elizabeth Bilton

Betty Bilton beloved wife of Glenn Bilton of Calgary passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Betty was born and raised in Kilmarnock, Scotland. In 1948 she immigrated to Saskatoon, SK and in 1952 she moved to Calgary. Betty married her best friend Glenn on April 23, 1960. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Hudson Bay Wholesale before the birth of their daughter Sheila at which time Betty devoted herself to raising a family. Betty was very active with St. Andrew United Church serving with the women of St. Andrews for many years. She has a passion for crafts and especially knitting, many toques and mitts for her grandchildren. Betty was instrumental in developing the mitten tree for those less fortunate. She will be remembered as a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Besides her loving husband Glenn of forty-six years, Betty is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sheila and Wayne Swan of Calgary; two granddaughters Jennifer and Haley; her sister-in-law Arlene McCall of Calgary; as well as several nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by two brothers Donald and Jock McCall; her parents Margaret and John McCall; and two grandchildren Joshua and Reanna Swan in infancy. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Rod Sykes and Rev. Shannon Mang, Presiders.
