Obituary of Marion Grant

Our wonderful Mother and Grandmother Violet Marion Grant passed away on December 10, 2006 in her 95th year. Marion was born on April 7, 1911 in Alymer, Ontario. Mom loved to travel, curl, and skate, sew, knit, was a Flames fan, and was a fabulous cook. Those talents took her to cooking in our hometown in the Vanguard Saskatchewan Hospital and the Caronport Bible School. She later moved to Calgary in the 1970’s where she cooked at the Baptist Leadership School. Mom loved her family and was happiest when we were all together for family gatherings. Marion’s deep abiding faith sustained her throughout her life. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her four children Bill (Vivian) Fraser of Havelock, ON, June (Arnold) Wylie of Calgary, Gerry (Bruce) Reid of Calgary and Calvin (Eileen) Grant of Swift Current; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; three sisters Elsie Butler, Margaret Danbrook and Jean Hale and her brother Paul Boxall. Mom was predeceased by her first husband William Fraser and her second husband William Grant; her parents Fred and Mary Boxall; two brothers Clayton and Ross Boxall, and her sister Joyce Shaw. Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jim Elliott Presider. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. Many thanks to Jeanine, Elsa and the on floor Caregivers of the Beverley Centre Glenmore for their kind and compassionate care where she resided for the last six years.
