Obituary of Sidney Pearlman

Sidney Pearlman beloved husband of Frances Pearlman of Calgary passed away on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Rockyview General Hospital surrounded by his family after a brief illness at the age of 86 years. Sidney was born in Winnipeg, MB and moved at the age of eighteen. He worked for many years at Polar Beverages and later at the Louise Block until his recent illness. Sidney’s quick wit and sharp sense of humour kept his friends and family on their toes. This gentle and funny man has left a legacy that his children and grandchildren aspire to fulfill. His shadow looms large in the close-knit family and he will be greatly missed. Besides his loving wife of fifty-nine years Frances, Sidney is survived by his three children, Paul (Katie) Pearlman, Richard (Cathy) Pearlman, Sharon (Marshall) Hundert; his three grandsons, Louie Pearlman, Matthew and Adam Hundert; and his sisters Miriam and Esther. Sidney was predeceased by his mother and father, Adella and Harry Pearlman; siblings Cynthia, David and Joseph. Funeral Services will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, (North East Corner of Highway 22X & 37th Street S.W.,) on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Avenue & Erlton Street S.W.). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Gary Rosenbaum Memorial Children’s Fund c/o The Jewish Family Service 200 – 4014 MacLeod Trail S. T2G 2R7) or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Sidney was a favourite of the staff on unit 59 at the Rockyview General Hospital and the family wishes to thank them for their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.
