Obituary of John Pawluk

John Pawluk , beloved husband of Justina Pawluk of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at the age of 86 years. John was born on May 24, 1920 in Zibraniwka, Ukraine. He and Justina immigrated to Canada in 1950 and settled in Calgary in 1953. He worked as a barber until his retirement in 1986. John received numerous awards and recognitions for his many contributions to the Ukrainian community in Calgary. John is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years Justina; his son and daughter-in-law Dr. William and Mary Pawluk of Baltimore, MD; his daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Alex Sharkey and Nadia and Robert Wusyk all of Calgary; his grandchildren, Adrian (Lisa) Pawluk, and Andrea (Tim) Maurer all of Baltimore, MD, Dale (Cheryl) Sharkey of O’Fallon, MO, and Brett (Lori) Sharkey of Calgary; his great-grandchildren, Jack, Kieran, Connor, Ashleigh, Alex, Oskar; brother Bohdan (Paraska) Pawluk of Moldova; sister Maria (Petro) of the Ukraine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in the Ukraine. He was predeceased by his parents Anna and Antony Pawluk, brother Wasyl, and his sister Anna.
