Obituary of Robert Allan Park

Robert (Bob) Allan Park of Calgary passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73 years. His spirit and will was indomitable to the end. Bob is survived by Beth, his beloved wife of fifty-one years; his children Deb (Stu), Bruce (Mary), Rob (Yvonne), Jamie, and Michelle (Clint); and his grandbabies and pride and joys, Ashley, Adam, Layton, Reed, Ty and Kristi. Bob grew up in Coleman, AB where he met and fell in love with Beth, his high school sweetheart. To pay for his university education Bob cowboyed in Banff, and successfully graduated from Oklahoma University as a Petroleum Engineer. He soon after began a life long career with Chevron Canada, which allowed him to have a huge impact on both the oil patch and his co-workers. He retired as Vice President, Production at the age of fifty-eight to give his full attention to his other passions, which included Beth, his family, fishing, wine making, curling, gardening and enjoying his cabin at the Shuswap. Bob will always be remembered for organizing annual family fishing trips and spending the summers with his children and grandchildren at the Shuswap, and never once in the last thirty-five years missing the fall Shuswap salmon run. Bob has left a strong and close family filled with love and laughter. He’s an inspiration for hard work, dedication, honesty and integrity. Because of Bob we have learned to strive to do our best, believe in ourselves and speak our minds. We will always love him and the memories he’s made for us will hold us until we meet again.
