Obituary of Gerhard Fritz Georg Range

Mr. Gerhard Range beloved husband of Christa Range of Calgary, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Foothills Hospital on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Gerhard was born in Osterode, Ostpreuzen on March 8, 1928. After the war, he earned his Masters in Baking and then moved to Calgary in the Spring of 1957, where he met his wife, also from Germany. Gerhard and Christa worked together and built a successful family business, Wild Rose Bakery, with the help of their daughters. They retired in the summer of 1989. Gerhard’s devotion to his family was unparalleled. Besides his loving and devoted wife of forty-six years Christa, Gerhard is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Steve, Frances and Rick, and Tracy and Greg; and by his five grandchildren, Jason, Bryce, Ryan, Rachel and Kierra. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and niece, Dorothy and Kristine and by his father-in-law George.
