Obituary of Big Plume

Randy Ross Big Plume, beloved husband of Theresa Roberta Big Plume of Calgary, entered into rest with creator on Monday, November 20, 2006 at the age of 49 years. Randy was very active with the Sarcee Seven Chiefs men’s hockey team on Sarcee Nation. Randy and his family owned and operated JesseRoss Trucking and he followed in his late father, Joe Big Plume’s footsteps in City Pool Leagues. He showed interest in the game and shared it with his nieces and nephews. Randy was a very dedicated husband, father and son to his wife, son and mothers, Dora Big Plume and Ida One Spot. Randy was a very loving protective father to all our native youth. He had the up most respect for our Nation Elders. He cherished their stories and visited with the many nation families. Ross took great pride in his land, home and people. Randy leaves behind his loving wife Theresa Roberta; his son Jesse Ross; his adopted daughters, Shanna T (Dwayne) O.S. and Carrie (Darcy) Fox; his brothers, Frank (Heather) Little Light, Alan (Christine) O.S., Dave (Jackie) O.S., Dale O.S., Jordon (Mona) O.S., Jon O.S. as well as Ron O.S.; sisters, Gloria Littlelight, Judy Big Plume, Ann (Brian) Meguinis, Josephine (Mike) Cutknife, Betty (Jimmy) Roasting, Verna (Kenny) One Spot, Beverley (J.P.) O.S., Beverly Meguinis (Lee Roy); numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; aunties, Debra Big Plume, Bertha Big Plume, Mary Simon, Elsie Mistakenchief , from the Big Plume, One Spot, Labelle, Crane, Mistakenchief, Simon, Goodeye, Bull and Crowchild families. Randy was predeceased by his two fathers, Joe Big Plume and Robert One Spot; his brothers Bradford Littlelight, Freddie Littlelight, Bruce One Spot and Brian One Spot, sister Lena Crowchild; nephew Jordie Buffalo; as well as his kokum Clara Big Plume. The family apologizes if they missed anyone. . Wake Services will be held at the residence of Theresa Roberta Big Plume on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. and Friday, November 24, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. Traditional Ceremony will be held at the family residence on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church Sarcee Nation at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
