Obituary of Marlene Burnyeat

After a long and courageous four year battle with cancer, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday, November 20, 2006. Marlene was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on October 21, 1945 and is survived by her husband Bruce of 39 years, her son Michael (Marion) of Calgary, her daughter Janice (Bernie) Jesenovec of Langdon, her precious grandsons, Thomas, Brian and Cole, her sister Arlene (Garry) King of Regina, as well as many other relatives and friends. Marlene was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Marion McLachlan. Marlene and Bruce married in August of 1967 in Regina and relocated to Calgary shortly thereafter, where they have resided since. She enjoyed a working career that included teaching, real estate and various positions in the oil and gas industry, but continually upheld her most important job, that of raising and supporting her loving family. Marlene had many hobbies that she enjoyed, including gardening, scrapbooking, crochet, sewing, knitting and golf, which she played until her illness made it impossible. As well, she loved going for coffee, lunch and/or shopping with her friends. She also took pride in adding her homey touches to the family cabin in Invermere, BC.
