Obituary of Nicola Grossi

Nicola Grossi of Calgary, beloved husband of Ernestina Grossi and beloved father of Fabio Grossi, passed away after a courageous struggle with cancer on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the age of 63 years. Nicola was born on April 21, 1943 in Villalago, L’ Aquila, Italy. He studied in Rome before moving to Canada on November 6, 1966. On November 9, 1975 Nicola married Ernestina Grossi and in 1977 they would be blessed with their son Fabio. From 1973 to 2002 Nicola worked for Domtar Packaging. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (formerly St. Andrew’s Italian Church). He had a passion for soccer and crossword puzzles but his greatest passion was enjoying the company of family and friends. Besides his loving wife Ernestina, Nicola is fondly remembered by his son, Fabio Grossi; his mother Lisa Grossi; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Anne Konicki; brother-in-law, Emidio Grossi of Italy; nephew Paolo Grossi and nieces, Sara (Brett) Mulder, Alexandra and Stefanie Zarnowski. He was predeceased by his father Donato. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Monday, November 20, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will take place in the family crypt in Italy.
