Obituary of Madeline Hanson

Mrs. Madeline Eva Hanson (nee Burridge), wife of the late Marvin Hanson of Calgary, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord, at Newport Harbour Care Centre, on Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at the age of 85 years. Madeline was born on October 5th, 1921 in London, ON, and grew up in Hamilton and Toronto. She met Marvin when he was in the Armed Forces during World War II and stationed in Hamilton. They moved to Calgary in 1954 and were long-time members of First Alliance Church. Madeline will be remembered as a loving wife and mother, a woman of intelligence and steadfastness. After raising her family she found further fulfillment outside the home, working for the Canadian Red Cross for nine years in charge of tracing and reunions, and then for a further ten years as the organist at the Anglican Church at Heritage Park. She is survived by five children who remain to celebrate her life, Phil (Jill); Lois-Anne (David); Roslyn (Barry); Graham; and Heather (Glenn); seven grandchildren; Vanessa, Adrienne, Matt, Michael, Ben, Sarah, and Ryan, as well as daughter-in-law, Kathy.
