Obituary of Mary Batty

Mary Batty of Calgary passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the age of 97 years. Mary came to Canada from Hull, England in 1927 and married Alfred in 1939. She was a founding member of the Calgary Association for the Mentally Handicapped and the Christine Meikle School. She was also a long time member of St. Mark’s Parish. Mary is survived by her loving family, Bill (Marie) of Naramata, BC, Brian of Calgary and Ken of Dawson Creek BC; nine grand children; thirteen great-grandchildren; one niece and four nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, one sister Ethel and two brothers, Bill and Arthur. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mark’s Anglican Church (1802 – 33 Avenue S.W. on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to Special Olympics Calgary, 3676 – 48th Ave. N.E., Calgary, AB T3J 5C8 Telephone: (403) 735 – 1022.
