Viggo Pederson

Obituary of Viggo Nygaard Pederson

Viggo Pedersen of Airdrie, much loved husband, step dad, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at the age of 77 years. Viggo was born on April 9, 1929 in Copenhagen, Denmark and immigrated to Alberta as a young man where he met and married his first wife, Connie. He worked hard his whole life and retired from full time employment when he married Dorothy in 1987. Together, they enjoyed traveling, farming, gardening, wine-making, visiting with friends, and caring for their pets. Many happy times were spent at family gatherings – which Viggo loved. While living in the Okanagan, Viggo mastered the art of wine making. His wine was enjoyed by many, and it brought Viggo great pleasure to share it with all. Viggo will be greatly missed by his wife, Dorothy; children, Eileen and Ken Wylie, Ian and Helen McKay, and Anne and Keith Vanderzyde; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven brothers and sisters, and their families. He was predeceased by his first wife, Connie; his parents; and two brothers.
