Obituary of Sheri Lynn Sanders

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful young daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, Sheri Lynn Sanders. She lost a very courageous and dignified battle with cancer on Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the age of 34 years. Sheri was born in Winnipeg, MB and moved with her family to Calgary at the age of six. She grew up spending many summers at Grand Beach, MB which led her to purchase property at Glennifer Lake where she truly enjoyed the outdoors and friends and family around the fire. Sheri had a passion for travel, music, and sporting events which she was blessed to fulfill even during her struggle. She had a very successful career in sales culminating with her last position as District Manager for Energizer Canada. Sheri loved her work, fellow employees and customers and they in return shared a great respect and admiration for her professionalism. Throughout her life Sheri gained many friends who truly became her angels. God bless you all for the cherished times she spent with you. Sheri’s motto was ‘Live, Love, and Laugh’ and her infectious personality exemplified this. Whether at work or play she challenged herself and others to do just that. What a remarkable impact she had on so many in so few years. Sheri captured the hearts of many with her lovely smile and positive attitude. Sheri will always be remembered for her bright eyes, sense of humour, independence and the unconditional love she gave to so many. While we are deeply saddened that she is no longer with us in body, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit lives on, and that we can learn from her example of love and care for others. Sheri is survived by her father Glen Sanders; her mother Brenda Sanders (Skip Gibson); sister Melisa Sanders (Kevin Henry); her Grandma, Mildred Beaudry and her Nana, Marie Pretula, of Winnipeg; as well as her extended family. “As she dances away from our lives, she is very happy there watching over us.” Athena A Celebration of Sheri’s Life will be held at Foothills Alliance Church (333 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 2:00p.m. with the Pastor. Ian Trigg, Presider. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Because of Sheri’s love of children if friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Jamie’s Preschool Society, For Children With Cancer c/o 2127 Woodpark Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2W 6E5. A special thanks to all of Sheri’s caregivers for their gentle care over the past year and to everyone in Sheri’s life for their kind deeds, prayers and presence. In living memory of Sheri Sanders, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W., CALGARY.
