Obituary of Anthony James Devonshire

Anthony James Devonshire of Calgary passed away suddenly on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at the age of 25 years. Anthony was a magnificent soul. A driven mountaineer, Anthony travelled the world to pursue his passion for climbing. He was a born adventurer and the mountains were always the object of his desire, whether in France, Germany, Peru, Thailand, the Western U.S.A., and especially the magnificent Canadian Rockies. The loss is deeply felt by his family and his fiancée Tempest and her family. The grief of his loss also extends to the Mount Royal College and Southland Leisure Centre climbing centres where Anthony had countless friends and students. Anthony was a University of Calgary student, majoring in political science and business. He lived a complete life in the short time he was granted. Anthony is survived by his mother Diane Devonshire; father Jim Devonshire; brother Mike Devonshire; fiancée Tempest Emery; grandmother Nan Dickie; aunts, Judy Tilston and Suzanne Devonshire Baker; uncle George Samis; and their families. A Celebration of Anthony’s life and achievements will be held at Mount Royal College (4825 Mount Royal Gate S.W.), Multi Purpose Room at the Recreation Centre (use West entrance) on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev.
