Obituary of David Gerke

It is with deep sadness our family announces the death of David Gerke, age 58 on November 01, 2006 at Rosedale Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer. David will be lovingly missed by his five children, Spenser, Stefanie, and Jared, Shanley (Wes), Sean (Jill); his wife Lynne and her children Rebecca and Stephanie; grandpa to Shaelyn, Kailee, and Sydney. His grandbabies will miss his hugs and chocolate surprises. David is also survived by his siblings, Lynn Jordan, Jody (Gary) Nilsson, Don (Glynne) Gerke, Bill (Diane) Hanna, Jane Gibson, Brian Gerke, Shelia Elliot and numerous nieces and nephews. David was pre-deceased by his parents Doris and Percy Gerke and his brother-in-law Garry Jordan. Family and friends are invited to an open house to celebrate David’s life on Sunday, November 05, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at their family home in Springbank. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bebb and the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Center for their care of David. We would also like to extend a warm thank you to the staff and volunteers of Rosedale Hospice for opening up their hearts and “home” to David and his family.
