Obituary of James Campbell

James William Hornby (Bill) Campbell, beloved husband of Beth Campbell, of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Friday, October 27, 2006 at the age of 69 years. Bill was born in Calgary at the Holy Cross Hospital on January 20, 1937, shortly after the family had returned from their years in Scotland. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant and attended Balmoral and Crescent Heights. He worked for CP Rail before moving to Air Canada in the 60’s. He retired from Air Canada in 1991. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Donald and by his siblings, Mary, John, Anne and Robert (Bob). He is survived by his loving wife Beth; his children Grant, Carolyn Carr and Janelle (Bob) Heise. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, Rachael and Tanner as well as all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews who will miss “Uncle Bill” at the family picnic. He will also be missed at coffee with “the boys” and by all his friends at Rod Runs across Canada and the U.S. Funeral Services will be held at Grace Baptist Church (2670 Radcliffe Drive S.E.) on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Wally Fus, Presider. Special thanks to all the medical staff that cared for Dad during his illness, especially Dr. Patrick Champagne, who was unfailingly kind and considerate. Thanks also to Dr. Falk and the excellent staff at the Agapé Hospice, who ensured his comfort.
