Obituary of John MacLeod

John MacLeod of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Although born in Calgary, John spent his early years in Garyvard, Isle of Lewis, Scotland, returning to Calgary in the late 1920’s. John served admirably in the Canadian Army for the full seven years of WW II and returned to his waiting future wife, Elsie Mavis Currie. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him and we know that he is now in the arms of Elsie and our Lord in heaven. John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Louise of Dallas, TX and daughter and son-in-law, Mavis and Stewart Henderson of Calgary; four grandchildren, Kaley Vandenberg and Kyle Henderson of Calgary, Cailin MacLeod of Toronto, ON and Iain MacLeod of Cranbrook, BC. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Parkinson of Surrey, BC. John was predeceased by his wife Elsie on February 1, 1990 and two brothers and two sisters.
