Obituary of Margaret Liggett

Margaret passed away peacefully at the Wentworth Manor, on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the age of 89 years after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Margaret was born June 30, 1917 on a farm near Frobisher, Saskatchewan and she married Lloyd on December 23, 1941. The wife of an RCAF pilot, she had the opportunity to live and travel throughout Canada and Europe for over twenty-five years while raising her family. During this, time Margaret obtained a pilots licence in the Royal Canadian Flying Club. She had a vivacious love for life and enjoyed golf, curling, baseball, and her daily walks. Margaret was a caring and compassionate person who always had time for all those she met. Margaret will be fondly remembered by many in the South Calgary Rotary Club. Margaret is survived by her husband Lloyd; and three sons and daughters-in-law; Bill and Shirley and their family Kevin, Colleen (Greg), and Jeni; Bob and Carol and their family Jill (Brian); Brian and Gail and their family Janine (Ryan), and Michelle; and six great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Jesse and Bill Brandon; three brothers Lorne, Albert, and Ross Brandon. Funeral Services will be held at Living Spirit United Church (900 – 47 Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rita Cattell Presider.
