Obituary of William Doherty

A truely rich man is one whose children run into his arms when his hands are empty It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband and father, Bill Doherty, of Calgary, on Monday, October 23, 2006, at the age of 78 years. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marj; five daughters, Colleen, Karen (Eugene), Patti (Brian), Shannon, and Tammy (Julio); fourteen grandchildren, Erin, Brad, Krista, Stacey, Michelle, Jackie, Ryan, Kelly, Jason, Scott, Tara, Shane, Amy, and Lara; eight great-grandchildren; sister Maureen; brother Patrick (Maureen); extended family and many great friends. Bill’s true loves were his family, his friends, a good ole game of gin rummy and living a simple life. He faced adversity with courage and acceptance. He remained positive and upbeat during his long battle with kidney disease. He could always make you laugh with his quick wit and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
