Obituary of Dean Constantine Oltean

Dean Oltean beloved husband of Eleanor of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006 at the age of 87 years. Dean was born on December 24, 1918, on the farm in Markinch, SK district. For many years later he farmed in the Pense, SK district. Upon his retirement, Dean came to Calgary in 1984 where he developed a passion for woodworking and would spend countless hours working at his lathe in his shop. He thrived on accomplishment, always enjoyed travelling and loved entertaining his family and friends. Along with his wife Eleanor, Dean was a long time member of the Icelandic Club in both Regina, SK and Calgary. Besides his loving wife Eleanor, of fifty-eight years, Dean is also survived by his two brothers, George of Windsor, ON and William of Vancouver, BC; his sister Flora Oltean of Nova Scotia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Susanna and Ion Oltean; as well as by four sisters and five brothers.
