Obituary of Audrey Elaine Gunther

Audrey Elaine Gunther (nee Strain), beloved wife of Garth Gunther of Calgary, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the age of 54 years. Audrey was born on January 1, 1952 in Red Deer, AB and was raised in the Stettler area. She received her formal education at U of A, graduating with a B.Ed. in music. Audrey was a loving and caring mother, aunt and godmother where her family always came first. She taught music her whole life, but music WAS her life as well. She was a gifted teacher with the ability to bring out the best in her students. Her greatest joy was fostering the love of music in other people. Audrey loved the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and especially enjoyed being in the mountains. Having family and friends around her all the time was very important to Audrey. Besides her loving husband Garth, Audrey is survived by her children, Corinne and Graham Robinson, Erin Gunther, and Brett Gunther, all of Calgary. She is also survived by her parents Bert and Dorothy Strain of Stettler, AB; sister Joan and Ian Uhrich of Okotoks; brother Rick and Diane Strain of Calgary; brother Robert and Jackie Strain of Calgary; and sister Carolyn and David Cheetham of Red Deer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
