Obituary of Garry Glenwood Bauman

Garry Bauman, beloved husband of Marlys Bauman of Calgary, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 at the age of 66 years. Garry was born in Innisfail, AB on July 21, 1940. Starting his hockey career, he received a scholarship after being scouted by Michigan Tech. Garry later was a goaltender in the NHL, playing for the Montreal Canadiens and then the Minnesota North Stars. When he retired from hockey he pursued a teaching career at Strathcona Tweedsmuir School until his retirement in 1999. Garry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; he loved camping, fishing and going on “road trips” with Marlys. He is survived by his wife Marlys; son Greg; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Paul, Janet and Sheldon; and grandchildren, Taylor, Jake, Morgan, and Robbie. Garry was predeceased by his father Norman in 1988; and his mother Eva in 1996.
