Obituary of Beverley Anne Winters

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden and tragic passing of Beverley Anne Winters on Tuesday, October 10th, 2006. Bev was born to Arthur and Dorothy Bumphrey on April 18th, 1943 in Moose Jaw, SK where she resided until 1954 when the family moved to Kelowna, BC. Upon graduation, she moved to Calgary to attend college. It was in Calgary that she met her future husband, Edward Winters, whom she married in 1966. They were blessed with two sons, Tim and Devon. Bev was one of those truly exceptional mothers who devoted herself completely to the upbringing of her boys. Bev also touched the lives of many children in the day home she operated for several years before she began working for the Parkinson?s Society in 1991. There, all appreciated her organizational skills and efficiency. She was an indispensable employee and friend who will be greatly missed. Bev was a soft-hearted soul whose generosity knew no bounds. She loved unconditionally and truly lived a sacrificial life. She was continually giving of her time in packaging presents for nieces and nephews who will never forget their ?Auntie Bev?s? ability to choose the perfect gift for each one. Her life was greatly enriched by her treasured grandsons who were so fortunate to have Grandma living close by. All who met her recognized her goodness and were better for having known her. It gives the family some comfort knowing that she left this world with her beloved and devoted father, Art. Bev leaves to mourn her husband Ed; children, Tim and Devon (Kristiana); cherished grandsons, Fynn and Teague; sisters-in-law Marilyn (George) Dalzell and Wendy (Bev) Isaacs; their children Jason (Julie), Tanya and Robin (Dave) Cockell; brothers-in-law Brian (Glenda); their son, Dean (Jill); Gerry (Val); their children, Stacy (Dan) Ferec, Nikki, Scott (Melynda), and Ward; aunts, Hazel, Irene, Ada, Marge and families; and Uncle Bob (Mary) Winn; as well as many great-nieces and nephews. Bev also leaves a great hole in the hearts of her brother Jim?s family, Mike (Sheri) Bumphrey and children, Eric, Josée, Max, Dane, Jacinta, Myles, Sam; Sandi (Norm) Sirois and children, Nicholas, Alexandra, Christian; Shawn (Leah) Bumphrey and children, Fletcher, Jonah and Peter. She was also a great friend to Randy and Kathy Routly (Kristiana?s parents). They shared many meals and happy moments together and especially bonded over the birth of their shared grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved older brother Jim (1987); and her mother Dorothy (2002). A Celebration of Bev?s Life will be held at St. Gerard?s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bogdan Sianozecki SDS, Presider.
