Obituary of Trottier Whitcombe

Ellen Trottier Whitcombe of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the age of 89 years. Ellen was born on August 1, 1917 in Red Deer, AB and raised in Calgary. Ellen married Wilfrid Trottier and together they raised five sons. She was a long-time member of the Calgary Catholic Women’s League at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was also actively involved with Meals on Wheels for a number of years. Ellen’s passions were photography and travelling and she continued to travel following Wilf?s passing. It was on a tour in New Zealand that she met her second husband Doug with whom she resided in New Zealand until his passing and her return to Calgary in 2004. Ellen is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Neil and Madeline Trottier of Imbil, Australia, Barrie and Marie Trottier of Osoyoos, BC, Denis and Marie Trottier of Calgary, and Paul Trottier of Panorama, BC; five granddaughters; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Betty Rutter of Kingman, AZ; Terry Rutter and Aina Miltins of Calgary; a sister Tracy Morrison of Canmore, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Wilfrid Trottier of Calgary; second husband Douglas Whitcombe of Nelson, New Zealand; and two sons, Richard Trottier and Randy Trottier. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1307 – 14th Street S.W.) on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev.
