Obituary of Philip Harvey Dau

Philip (Phil) Harvey Dau of Calgary, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Phil was born on April 14, 1922 in Three Hills, AB and was raised on a homestead near there. He attended the University of Alberta and later joined the Navy during WWII. When the war ended, Phil returned to the U of A and graduated with his civil engineering degree in 1948. Phil married Connie Gibson in 1956 in Vancouver. He began his career with various pipeline engineering firms, ultimately becoming President of William Brothers Engineering and Northern Engineering. Phil retired in the mid 1980s to continue his pursuit of golf and his passion for fine wood working. Phil is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Brian Dau and Pat Carswell of Calgary; a daughter and son-in-law, Tiki and Brian Mulvihill of North Vancouver, B.C.; and two grandchildren, Kamiah and Bret-Alise Mulvihill, both of North Vancouver, B.C. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Betty Nault of Calgary, and Doris and Gordon Roper of Victoria, B.C.; sister-in-law, Betty Sparks of Medicine Hat, AB; and numerous nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his wife, Connie, on February 13, 1989; and a brother, Bob Dau.
