Obituary of Arthur Johnson

Arthur (Art) Johnson, beloved husband of Lea Johnson, of Calgary, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the age of 74 years. Art was born on March 6, 1932 in Birmingham, England and served in the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery for twenty-two years. He immigrated to Canada in 1974, settling in Calgary. Art was the manager of I.O.F. (Independent Order of Foresters) for southern Alberta and BC for twenty-three years. He was an avid gardener and no matter which country Art lived in he always had a garden. His other enjoyment was cooking. Besides his loving wife of fifty-three years, Art is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Roger and Ruth; one daughter Michelle; his mother-in-law, of Germany; and a niece Rosemarie and her husband Frank of Calgary. He is also survived by two sisters Dina and Ray and Cherry and Kalvin, as well as several nieces and nephews in England. Art was predeceased by his parents, one brother and two sisters. A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
