Obituary of Trevor Andrew Dickson

With deep sorrow, we announce the sudden death of Trevor Andrew Dickson of Cochrane, AB on Thursday, September 28, 2006. Those close to Trevor knew him to be a kind and gentle man of profound integrity. Many have been impacted by Trevor’s quiet leadership, love of the outdoors, and commitment to self-propelled pursuits as well as holistic fitness. Trev was an accomplished athlete, participating in numerous triathlons, and distance runs. He shared his love of flow yoga through instructing Ashtanga Yoga classes in Cochrane and Calgary. He actively supported community events such as Kids Of Steel Triathlon, Footstock Race weekend and the building committee of the Spray Lakes Recreation Centre. Trevor was a devoted father, taking great pride and involvement in his daughters’ lives and activities, particularly dance and swimming. He spent many years working as a civil engineer with Trans Canada Pipelines in Toronto and Calgary prior to owning a bike shop, and providing sport training and yoga instruction. Mourning Trevor’s departure are: his parents James and Elizabeth Dickson of Uxbridge ON; daughters Karly and Brianne Dickson of Cochrane; his brothers Rod and Adrian of Uxbridge and Ottawa; the children’s mother Joanne (Schultz) Dickson and their grandmother Bettina Schultz of Toronto; their Aunt Heather (Schultz) and Uncle Ray Funk of Sarasota, FL; and nephews Sean, Jeff and Cameron; as well as nieces Crystal and Lara; and many friends in the tri-athlete and yoga communities and community at large. Sharing sorrow for his passing and gratitude for his life are Trevor’s Anam Cara, Joanne Leskow and her daughter Alexandria of Cochrane as well as the Leskow family in Edgerton, Calgary, Stony Plain and Wainwright. The cycling community will gather for a road ride on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. in the Big Hill Leisure Pool parking lot.
