Obituary of John Faull

Telfer Faull, of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at the age of 86 years. Telfer was born at Beacon, Cornwall, England on January 12, 1920. During the War he served in the Royal Engineers in the 8th Army from 1940 to 1946, in the Western Desert, in Italy and finally in France and Germany. In 1957 Telfer moved to Calgary where he became employed in the accounting department of Dominion Bridge Co. Ltd., staying there until his retirement in November of 1984. He spent three years with the company in Edmonton from 1960 to 1963. On his return to Calgary he joined the choir of the Riverview United Church and was a member up until 1998. For some years he was also the Church Treasurer. In recent years he had been a volunteer in the grand-parenting program at Windsor Park Elementary School where he helped students with their Math. Telfer will be lovingly remembered by his son and daughter-in-law Geoff and Barb of Lloydminster, AB; daughter Val and grandsons Michael and Steven, all of Calgary; and granddaughter Nicole of Lloydminster, AB. He is also survived by his brother Claude (Stella) of Redruth, England; brother-in-law Vivian of St. Ives, England; nephew Julian (Beverley) of Redruth, England; niece Elizabeth (Mike) of Innisfil, ON; and cousin Joan of Sale, England. Telfer was predeceased by his loving wife Joan of fifty-two years in 2003.
