Obituary of Rosanna PURCELL

1935 – 2019 Rosanna Purcell of Calgary, Alberta passed away peacefully May 10, 2019 at the age of 84 years. The only child of the late Francis and Emma Beauchesne, Rosanna was born in Dumas, Sk. on Jan 17, 1935. Her elementary and junior years were spent at a Convent and her senior years at Kennedy High School. She stayed close to home and worked in restaurants in the Kennedy and Kipling area before making the move to the big city of Regina, Sk. in 1954. Rosanna worked at the Saskatchewan Hotel and Bus Depot as a waitress and then Regina Steam Laundry. It was while working here that she was introduced to her future husband George Purcell. George and Rosanna were married on Nov 3, 1956. In 1963 they said good-bye to their home in Regina and headed to the farm just north of Kayville, Sk. where they stayed for the next 31 years before retiring to beautiful Kelowna, BC in 1994. When George passed away in 2007, Rosanna moved to Calgary to be closer to her family. Rosanna is survived by her five daughters, Teresa Ardelan (Dale), Lynne Sanderson, Bridget Wilson (Murray), Lee-Anne Gossard and Georgina Purcell. Her seven grand children, Bobbie Schmidt (Jason), Jason Ardelan (Nicole), Amy Johnson (Jason), Blake Sanderson (Lauren Stein), Derek Wilson, Brittany Gossard (Nathan Dick) and Jeremy Gossard. Her four great grand children, Peyton & Riveigh Schmidt, Kaeli & Tenley Ardelan and another precious one arriving in October. She is predeceased by her parents Francis and Emma Beauchesne, loving husband George and son-in-law Clint Gossard. The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at Age Care Walden Heights for loving our mother and taking such good care of her over the past 7 years and especially the final few weeks. A Celebration of Rosanna’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Deerfoot South, ) on Saturday, May 25, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
