Obituary of Ethel Rekay-Storey

Ethel Susan Rekay-Storey, beloved wife of Terry of Calgary, passed away on Friday September 15, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Born and raised in Budapest, Ethel was always proud of her sports and Olympic rowing trials. She married George Rekay in 1947 and they came to Calgary in 1956. They cherished their work in Algeria from 1970-1979 where they met Terry and Flora Storey and their three children. George passed away in 1981 followed by Flora in 1985. Terry and Ethel married in 1986 while Terry’s family attended the University of Calgary. She remained loving and dedicated to Terry and his ongoing geology studies and conferences in Calgary and abroad and remained most happy for many Far East visits. Ethel sensed her deteriorating health and fought valiantly to prevail. ‘Your love and devotion live forever in the heaven of my heart and memories – Terry.’ Ethel leaves behind her husband Terry and family; Lisa-Ph.D, Melvin-M.A., Lora-B.Ed, and granddaughter Amber. She also leaves niece Marta Toltesi, her husband John and their children Christopher and Lisa and their families; and brother-in-law John Rajko, all of Calgary; as well as a special friend Sandor Jaszay. Ethel was predeceased by her sister Ili in July 2000. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday September 21, 2006, at 2:30 P.M.
