Obituary of Van Dyke

Burt Van Dyke, beloved husband of Margaret of Cochrane passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on Monday, September 11, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Besides his loving wife Margaret, Burt is survived by his children, Stewart and Cindy Van Dyke, Darlene Thiele, and Karen and Timothy Thomas; eight grandchildren, Marja, Coryn, Aren, Lukas, Melisa (Thomas) Stephanie, Alexis, and Daniel (Michele); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his eight brothers, and his son-in-law Ric Thiele. A Pipefitter by trade and a Construction Superintendent, Burt’s career began in 1946. Until he retired in 1992, he worked in the oil and gas industry from Rainbow Lake to Estevan and from Rocky Mountain House to Oyen. The province of Alberta is dotted with facilities he helped construct. A Celebration of Burt’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Cochrane Funeral Home (369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB) on Friday, September 15, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
