Obituary of Carole Anne Gibbie

Carole ‘Gramma’ Gibbie, beloved wife of Karl Gibbie of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the age of 66 years. Carole loved life, her family, and all her pets. Her kind heart and magical sense of humour brought many friends into her life. Carole was a fantastic cook, gardener, and caregiver. She loved to brighten up everyone’s day with her smile and passion for life. Carole started her career with chiropractor Dr. Stewart Patterson. She later helped Dr. Dan Wegg establish his practice, as well as Dr. Chris Corrie until her retirement. Carole graciously welcomed many people into her home, which was always filled with warmth. Carole was the anchor of her family, and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She touched many people’s lives with her humour, compassion and quick wit. We all feel blessed to have known her. Besides her loving husband, Karl, Carole is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Leslie and Roger, and Dianne and Greg; and sons, Chris and Stephan. She adored her granddaughter Danielle, with whom she shared a very special relationship, as well as close family member, Sharlene Lander. She left a legacy of faithful furry companions, Georgie, Bernie, Paco, Molly and Dolly. Wherever Carole trod there was an imprint left on everyone’s lives.
