Obituary of Donald Irl Drader

Don Drader beloved husband of Norma Drader of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at the age of 81 years. Don was born on April 3, 1925 in Regina, SK., and served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945. He married Norma Smith on November 1, 1952 in Edmonton and has resided in Calgary since 1959. Don was committed to his career as a caterer, which he loved, and dedicated many long hours to over twenty-five years in the business. He was extremely strong willed, had a tremendous sense of humour, a positive attitude towards life and a gift of making people smile. Don also greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his cat Dewey. Besides his loving wife Norma of fifty-three years, Don is survived by his five children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Vivian and Harvey Hildahl of Estevan, SK; several nieces and nephews; and close family friends, Cheryl and Kory. Don was predeceased by his parents, Francis (May) and William Drader; one brother; and five sisters. At Don’s request a private function was held in his honour.
