Obituary of Patrick Francis Walsh

Our family would like to thank all of our friends, medical personnel and Cochrane Home Care who assisted in making it possible to fulfill Pat’s wishes to pass away at home. Pat enjoyed numerous careers, such as the RCMP, mining, logging, retailing and counselling. He had a particular passion for the drug and alcohol recovery program, Trinity Industries, to which he committed many years of his life. His great love for Ghost River Crossing was key to the development of the Centre for Learning. He took great joy in the outdoors, excelling in rowing, fishing and golfing. He was an accomplished horseman, including the RCMP Musical Ride, dressage, and jumping. Pat had a great zest for life and appreciation for individuals. His varied experiences made him an extraordinary coach and counsellor. He will be remembered and loved by many. Pat was predeceased by his mother, Margaret; father, Joseph; sister, Kathleen; brother, Joe; son, Joe; and daughter, Diane. He is survived by his loving wife, Valda; sister, Marie; children, Patricia (Mark), Nancy (Bob), Kelly (Debbie), Peter (Laura), Theresa (Clarence), Kathleen (Jim), Chris (Wendy); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
