Obituary of Allan James Staples

Allan James Staples, beloved husband of Denise, of Cochrane passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at the age of 56 years. Allan was born on January 22, 1950 and grew up Kindersley, SK. He received a Business Administration Diploma from SAIT in 1969 and became a licensed Real Estate agent with the Calgary Real Estate Board in 2001 and joined Stagecoach GMAC Real Estate in Cochrane. Allan owned and operated Staples Men’s Wear in Kindersley, SK with his brother Lorne for seventeen years until moving to Cochrane in 1992 where he operated the Shell Gas Station for over eight years before joining Denise as her partner in their real estate business. Allan was very active in sports, including hockey, curling, skiing, and especially golfing. He enjoyed being an avid sportsman and being with his family and numerous friends. Besides his loving wife Denise of thirty-five years, Allan is survived by his sons Marty and his fiancÚe Alana Slager, both of Calgary and Mark of Cochrane. He is also survived by his parents Donald and Toni Staples; his brother and sister-in-law Lorne and Arlene Staples (Ryan, Malorie and Carly), all of Kindersley; his and father and mother-in-law Ormond and Nadia Hawes, of Saskatoon, SK; his nephews and nieces; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins and friends. Funeral Services will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church (128 – 1st Street, Cochrane, AB) on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Donald E. Koots, Presider.
