Obituary of William Molson

William Markland Molson, son of John Henry Molson and Hazel Florence (nee Brown), died peacefully in Calgary on Friday, September 8, 2006 at the age of 85 years. William was born and lived most of his life in Montreal, Quebec. He served with distinction throughout the Second World War as a member of the Black Watch Regiment. In addition to a successful career as an independent stock broker, he served on numerous charitable Boards, including the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the St. John Ambulance of Canada, where he held the office of President for several years. William was a warm and considerate man who will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour and generous nature. William is survived by his wife, Gail (nee Riley); three sons and four daughters-in-law, William and Barbara, Ian and Verena, Christopher and Nancy, and Janice; two daughters and sons-in-law, Natalie and Gabriel, and Claudine and Alex; stepchildren and their partners, Debbie and Dennis, Jay and Terrie, Marck and Susan, and Julie and D’Arcy. He is also survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and James Iversen; and brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Clare and Peter and Sylvie. He will be greatly missed by his eleven grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. William was predeceased by his eldest son, John Markland. A Private Family Service will be held in Montreal, QC.
