Obituary of Zena Till

Zena passed away on Friday, September 8th, 2006. With great sadness and sorrow, her family grieves her premature departure from this life. She leaves behind her parents, Helen and Michael, her two sons Adam and Andrew, and her husband Ken. Zena is predeceased by her brother Joe and has always looked forward to reuniting with him when they meet again. Her parting is also mourned by her sister-in-law, Viv and husband David, as well as her niece and nephew Jan and Steve, Steve’s wife Claire, and their two children. Denise will miss her greatly and is wonderful support for Andrew and the family. Zena’s family in Sweden and Poland also grieve for her parting, where she will be especially missed by Hanna and Gwidon and their two daughters Maria and Kasia, who Zena and Ken met and stayed with in Sweden and in Tucson during the last year. The family is thankful that the reconnection with Hanna and Gwidon came in time for Zena to get so much joy and pleasure from the relationship. Zena will be greatly missed by her many friends, especially Anne, Cilla, Carol, Nancy and Hazel who shared so many happy times with her. Together, Zena and Ken have enjoyed thirty-seven years of happy marriage and, as she herself said, she has had a good life. Of the many joyous moments Zena and Ken have had together, the births of their two sons Adam and Andrew were the two pinnacles of happiness in their lives. Together they saw many parts of the world while working abroad, both before and after settling in Calgary from Kenya thirty-one years ago. Zena contributed greatly to the lives of those around her, and derived great pleasure from her teaching career. She impacted the young lives of many children during the twenty-five years that she taught with the Calgary Catholic School Board. She took much pleasure from the numerous young adults who approached her many years after she had taught them, expressing appreciation for the contribution that she had made to their lives and learning. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Polish Catholic Church – Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Thursday, September 14, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Stanislaw Poszwa S.Ch, presiding. Graveside Service will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Please Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
