Obituary of Agnes Matheson
Agnes Matheson (nee Stewart) passed away peacefully at AgapÚ Hospice in Calgary on Monday, September 4, 2006.
She is lovingly remembered by two children David (Verena) and Dianne Hutton (Don), four grandchildren, Spencer (Sabine) and Allan (Marilyn) Matheson and Stewart (Nadia) and Megan Hutton, and one great granddaughter, Jane Agnes. She is survived by two sisters Jean Rolseth (Paul) and Vi Casson (Norm); two brothers Bill Barker (Eve) and Gary Barker (Terry); two sisters-in-law, Margaret Meador (Ken) and Ruby Matheson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Allan, her loving husband of fifty-four years.
She was raised in Duhamel, AB, attended Olds College where she met Allan and they lived in Edmonton, Balzac, Saskatoon and Calgary. Her sense of humour, quick wit, concern for others, enjoyment of good visits and a positive attitude will be missed by her family and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church (290 Edgepark Blvd. N.W.) on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev Ian A. Gray officiating. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of AgapÚ Hospice for the incredibly kind and compassionate care, and to the staff of Bow Crest Care Centre where she lived for two and a half years.
