Obituary of Joel David Weinberger

Joel David Weinberger, beloved son of Gale and Gordon Weinberger of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2006 at the age of 25 years. Joel was born on October 8, 1980 in Calgary. He attended school at Father James Whelihan and graduated from Bishop Grandin High School. Joel attended SAIT, studying metal work. He took a position with Able Machine Shop as a three-year Machinist Apprentice where he worked until the time of his death. Joel loved life and lived life to the fullest. He was a loving young man who was liked and loved by all and quickly gained the respect of others – friends and co-workers alike. Besides his loving parents Gale and Gordon, Joel is survived by his sister Alison and her special friend Gregg Ziegler of Calgary; his grandfather Harold Wilde of Medicine Hat, AB; his aunts and uncles, Rick Wilde of Okotoks and his special friends, Debbie and Krystle Meek, Blaine (Janine) Wilde of Medicine Hat, Joe (Pat) Wilde of Richmound, SK, Tillie McBride of Calgary, Marge (Joe) Dirk of Medicine Hat, Clara (Lukas) Sehn of Medicine Hat, George Weinberger of Bonnyville; Joel’s close friend Erica Miller; and his godparents Rick Wilde and Sharon Beatty. He is also survived by numerous cousins, including Brandon, Lara, Tessa, Rodney, Sarah, Laura, Andrea, and Kimberley. Joel was predeceased by his grandmother Rosemarie Wilde (nee Metz), grandfather Lee Weinberger, and grandmother Barbara Weinberger (nee Barth).
