Obituary of William Robert Campbell

Bob Campbell, beloved husband of Helen Campbell of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the age of 91 years. Bob was born on April 11, 1915 in Vancouver, BC. He came to Alberta as a boy and started working for Pat Burns Ranches until his retirement in 1979. In his retirement he lived in Carstairs, moving back to Calgary in 1991. Bob belonged to the Calgary Weekend Hikers and enjoyed both hiking and cross-country skiing. He also was a lover of poetry, music, history, and geography. Besides his wife of almost twelve years, Bob is survived by a daughter Heather Campbell of Calgary; two stepdaughters, Sandra and her husband Garry Lamb of Calgary, Leslie McLaughlin and her husband William (Sandy) Hewton of Lower Nicola, BC; and two stepsons, Cameron Trahan and his wife Kim of Stony Plain, AB and Darrell Trahan of Calgary. He is also survived by a brother Donald (Happy) Campbell of Bindloss, AB; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his first wife Eleanor in 1987, their daughter Merla Spencer in 2002; and a sister, Veda Dundas.
