Obituary of Mary DOUCETTE

January 25, 1950 – Bowmanville, Ontario August 31, 2019 – Okotoks, Alberta Mary Doucette, beloved wife of Roland Doucette (nee Coutts) of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the age of 69 years. Mary was born in Bowmanville, Ontario. She met and married the love of her life, Rolly, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario in 1967. In 1979, she headed out West with Rolly and settled in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where they raised their children until Rolly retired. Once retired they wanted to be closer to their grandchildren and their cabin in Lac La Biche, Alberta, so they were off once again this time to Camrose with Mary finally settling in Calgary after Rolly passed away in 2015. Mary was an avid and talented quilter, had a love for animals, the outdoors and traveling. Her most memorable trip was when she travelled to Scotland with her sister Nancy, to experience their Scottish heritage. She loved it so much that a few years later she went back with her husband, Rolly. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother. Mary was an incredibly independent person who always made family and friends her priority. There was nothing that brought her more pleasure than to spend time with family and close friends. Mary is survived by her son, James Doucette (Tammy), Troy, New York; daughter Barbara Touw (Mark), Calgary, Alberta; three grandchildren, Connor Touw, Benjamin Touw and Ray Kay; She is also survived by her brothers, Clyde Coutts (Darlene) and Hugh Coutts (Anna) and sisters, Nancy Jeyes, Sharon Hanus (Mike), Elizabeth Coutts and Roberta Ross (Brendan), sister-in-law, Joan Coutts and her dog, Zoey. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Roland Arthur Joseph Doucette; her mother Eileen Coutts; her father Hugh Coutts; brother, David Coutts; sisters, Isabelle Bell and Eileen Coutts and brother-in-law, Phil Jeyes. As it was Mary’s wish to be laid to rest with her husband, Roland, a Gravesite Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery () with a Celebration of Life to be held in Oshawa, Ontario, at a later date.
