Obituary of Clifford Franklin Derie

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Cliff on August 27, 2006, at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 82 years. Cliff loved spending time at the Royal Canadian Legion and was a long-time member of Legion Branch 285. Cliff served as a gunner on the Sudbury in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1942 to 1945. In 1963 Cliff moved to Calgary and was a long-time clothes and car salesman. He met many memorable people during his career and enjoyed Calgary as his home up until the time of his death. Cliff is survived by his daughter Fern (Larry) of Oyen; and daughter Lynn (Lyle) of Calgary. He was very proud of his five grandchildren, Lena, Donna, Jacklynn, Davona and Joshua. Cliff will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Rita in 1984 and his daughter Charlene in 1997. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday August 31, 2006, at 2:00 p.m., in Winnipeg, MB where he will be laid to rest at the Bnay Abraham Cemetery.
