Obituary of Allan Robert Nicholson

Allan Robert Nicholson, beloved husband of Dorothy Nicholson of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the age of 84 years. Allan was a native Albertan. He served in the R.C.A.F. as an operational pilot overseas and subsequently graduated from the University of Alberta. He was a charter member of St. Andrew’s United Church, a member of the Masons and a long term member of the Earl Grey Golf Club. Allan spent thirty-one years with Gulf Oil. After retiring, Allan and Dorothy spent twenty years off and on travelling in the Far East, Europe, wintering several months each year in Palm Desert, California, where they belonged to Santa Rosa Golf Course. Besides his loving wife of sixty-one years, Dorothy, Allan is survived by two sons, Allan Jr. of Victoria, and Gavin of Calgary; and daughter, Susan Stobo. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Sean, Jeremy, and Matthew, all of Ottawa. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
