Obituary of Jean Sutherland

It is with deep sorrow we announce that Jean Sutherland passed away on Friday, August 25 at the age of 86 years. Jean was fortunate to have a circle of many wonderful friends and relatives. She was born in Regina, attended the University of Toronto and was active with both her church and youth groups. In 1948, she went to Scotland and after a brief courtship, fell in love and married her handsome husband, Bob. She had a lifelong association with both the Presbyterian and United Church and truly lived her life with strong values. Jean will be remembered best for her kind and loving nature to all she encountered. She embraced life with optimism, a twinkle in her eyes and an unforgettable smile. We love you mom and you will forever be in our hearts. Jean will be forever loved and remembered by her children, Rob (Lisa), Gord (Sherry), Neil (Nancy) and Jeanette; her wonderful grandchildren, Tyler, James, Megan, Scott, Heather, and Sophie. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-eight years, Robert Duncan Sutherland in 1997and her brother John Allison. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express special thanks to the staff that helped her at the Peter Lougheed Centre.
