Obituary
Obituary of Rhondda Mary Holder
Rhondda, beloved mother, friend, auntie and wife, passed away suddenly in Calgary on Sunday, August 20, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her sons, Cody, Cale, and Del; her husband Bruce; and mother Betty. She was predeceased by her father Elmer Lamb. Also left to mourn Rhondda are her siblings, Shelley, Bill, Christie, and John; all “the cousins”; countless friends and the many people she touched throughout her too short life.
Rhondda was born in Calgary, migrated to Balzac, where she revelled in her horses, dogs, and friends and went to school in Airdrie. Moose Lake became her second home and she spent every summer there “laking” and making lifelong friends. She married Bruce and they set off on worldwide adventures, starting their own family along the way. Rhon cared deeply for people and creatures, great and small, and was an extremely compassionate and giving person. She was a hockey mom, a soccer mom, and was involved in the church, choir, and community. She was an avid volunteer and worked a plethora of jobs: school bus driver, gardener, volunteer at the Bethany Care Center, fundraiser, arena worker, village water projects in Indonesia, among many others. She loved to watch the geese land on her pond. Our Rhondda, Rhon, Auntie Rhon, Mom will be deeply missed and remembered by so many. We loved her with all our hearts.
