Obituary of Vincenzino Vaccaro

Vincenzino Vaccaro, beloved husband of Antonietta Vaccaro, of Calgary, passed peacefully in the presence of his loving family at the George Boyak Centre on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the age of 80 years. Vincenzino was born in Bonefro, Campobasso, Molise, Italy on October 22, 1925. He served in the Italian Army with the Bersaglieri in WWII. After the war, he married his love, Antonietta. Vincenzino farmed with his father and three brothers until immigrating to Canada. Together, with his wife and two sons, they arrived in Calgary on Christmas Eve, 1965. Vincenzino began working with C.P. Rail. A few years later he joined ATCO Industries and remained there until his retirement in 1987. He enjoyed gardening, making wine and making friends. Vincenzino was a very loyal, hard working and meticulous family man. Besides his loving wife Antonietta, Vincenzino is remembered by two sons, Onofrio and Francesco as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Monday, August 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Mausoleum.
