Obituary of Brian George Hadden
Brian Hadden of Calgary passed away peacefully at the AgapÚ Hospice on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the age of 67 years.
Brian was born on September 10, 1938 in Halifax, NS. After high school, he was an electrician in the Halifax Harbor and worked on many ships for the Royal Canadian Navy from 1955-1961. In 1957, he met Ruth Cameron, the next year he married her. From 1961-1962 he was at Canadian Marconi maintaining radar for the mid-Canada distant Early Warning Line Aircraft Detection in Northern Quebec. From 1962-1964, he was at Canadian Aviation Electronics working on electronic equipment for the Military in Canada and on bases in Europe. From 1964-1969 he worked for Quebec Cartier Mining on communication equipment in airplanes, dump trucks, and railway cars in Gagnon. Then he started with Alberta Gas Truckline Co. Ltd. in late 1969 and worked on many compressor stations and meter stations to supply natural gas to towns and cities in Southern Alberta. When he retired in 1997 that Company was known as Nova Corporation. After his retirement he worked on temporary jobs in Northern Alberta and the United States. In 1973 he lost his daughter Cheryl in a vehicle accident while on a trip with neighbours. His wife Ruth passed away in 1993.
Brian leaves behind three sons, John, Michael and Robert; two grandchildren, Darryl and Jeffrey; and his brother Eugene Murphy of Stoney Creek, ON. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, August 18, 2006 at 1:00 P.M.
