Obituary of Lois Jeannette Ebbels

It is with incredible sadness that the family of Lois Ebbels announce her sudden death on August 15, 2006, at the age of 81 years. Born in Brock, Saskatchewan on June 14, 1925, Lois eventually moved to Saskatoon to complete high school before attending the University of Saskatchewan, ultimately obtaining her Masters in Bio Chemistry. After a brief period in Toronto working as that city’s chief bacteriologist, she moved to Calgary where she married her husband of fifty-two years, Jack. Lois was involved in many community and philanthropic endeavours including co-chairing the United Way campaign in 1963. She loved bridge, tennis and spending time with her family and friends in Manzanillo, Mexico. Lois will be remembered by all who knew her for her incredible strength, courage, enthusiasm for life and unwavering love and support for her family. Lois is survived by her children, Susan and Tim (M.J.); her five grandchildren, John (Rebecca), Jessica, John, Emily and Billy; and her great-granddaughter Lila. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and her sister Barnie.
